Dr. Myrton Smith is a Consultant ENT, Head & Neck Surgeon. He is an Associate Lecturer in the Faculty of Medical Sciences, UWI. He has been in private practice since January 2008 with privileges at The Tony Thwaites’ Wing, Andrews Memorial Hospital, Medical Associates Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Dr. Smith was inducted as Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in October 2014. He is also a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngologists ‐Head & Neck Surgeons.
Dr. Clive Lai is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. In 2003, he was Elected Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist (FACOG).
Dr. Lai has been National Spell Master and Word Master for the Gleaner Spelling Bee Competition since 2004 and Chairman of the South-Central Branch of the MAJ since October 2012. He is a Past member of the Board of Hargreaves Memorial Hospital, Member of the Board of Mt. St. Joseph kinder-prep school, past member of the Board of Bishop Gibson High School for Girls, Past PTA president for Mt. St. Joseph Prep. and Bishop Gibson High schools
Dr. Andrew Manning is a Consultant ENT, Head & Neck Surgeon at the Mandeville Regional Hospital.
Dr. Manning is a former President of the Junior Doctors’ Association (JDA).
Dr Sherika Gray is a Medical Officer at the Kingston Public Hospital where she works in the Accident and Emergency Department. Dr Gray holds a BSc in Biochemistry and has worked as Refinery Technician at Petrojam Ja. Ltd. She is a devout Christian who serves in many capacities within her church. Dr Gray was Assistant Secretary of the MAJ from 2011 to 2013.
Dr. Romayne Edwards is an Emergency Physician that now works as a Consultant in the Emergency Medicine Division at the University Hospital of the West Indies. She has also worked at Spanish Town Hospital and St Jago Park Health Centre during internship. Dr. Edwards is an Associate Lecturer at the University of the West Indies, Mona.
Dr. Edwards served as Secretary, Public Relations Officer, Editor and Founder of “Check Up” their newsletter for the Jamaica Medical Doctors Association. She was also Vice President and Editor of the Jamaica Emergency Medicine Association (JEMA).
Dr. Colin Abel is a Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at the Bustamante Hospital for Children and an Associate Lecturer in the Department of Surgery, University of the West Indies, Mona.
Dr. Abel was inducted as Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeon, Edinburgh (FRCS), Fellow of the International College of Surgeons (FICS), Fellow of American College of Surgeons (FACS), and Fellow of the Caribbean College of Surgeons (FCCS). He is a member of the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons, the European Society of Paediatric Urologists and the American Academy of Paediatrics.
Dr Paul Kidd is a General Practitioner/Family Physician.
Dr. Kidd has served as Chairman of the Caribbean College of Family Physicians (CCFP) Jamaica Chapter as well as Vice President of the Association of General Practitioners (AGPJ).
Dr. Shane Alexis is an experienced medical practitioner who has served in several capacities in public and private service. A graduate of the Instituto Superior de Ciencas Medicos, Villa Clara, Cuba, Dr. Alexis currently serves as a Medical Officer at the Bustamante Children’s Hospital and the National Drag Racing Circuit Jamaica. He is also a Medical Practitioner at Ruthven Medical Centre, Director at Parkington Medical and Eye Centre and serves as a medical panellist to a number of organisations.
Dr. Alexis is the Vice Chair of the Board of Management of the Medical Association of Jamaica Insurance Fund (MAJIF) and the Immediate Past President of the Medical Association of Jamaica. He has served in varying capacities as the President of the Jamaica Medical Doctors’ Association, the Joint Health Sector Group, and is a member of the University Council (Board of Directors). He has also served as a Board Member of the Jamaica Business Development Corporation and Chair of the JBDC Marketing Committee
Dr. Shane Alexis is married. His hobbies include football, motor sport and dominoes.
